Ruth Page (1899-1991), dancer and choreographer, "reigned as the grand dame of dance in Chicago from the 1920s to the 1980s." Britannica online. Harald Kreutzberg (1902-1968), an important figure in German modern dance, studied with both Mary Wigman and Rudolf Laban. "In 1933, long after each had separately established a firm reputation on the concert stage, Miss Page and Mr. Kreutzberg began their collaboration in joint concert work in the United States. During the following summer they separated, Mr. Kreutzberg returning to the Mozarteum and Miss Page creating new ballets for the Century of Progress Exposition in Chicago.
