American soprano Mary Mellish made her Metropolitan Opera debut in 1918 as a choirboy in Meyerbeer's Le Prophète and sang comprimario roles there until 1923. Published in 1941, her memoir, Sometimes I Reminisce, recounts some of her experiences singing alongside Geraldine Farrar and other Metropolitan Opera stars.
