Despite the attribution on the title, the reduction of the present work was the work of August Horn (1825-1893). Rink: Chopin The Piano Concertos (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 1997), p. 35, dates Horn's arrangement, specifically commissioned by Breitkopf, to 1860-64.
