A re-issue of the 1843 edition. Schneider p. 417. Brandus took the edition over from Troupenas (whose business he bought in 1850), adding his own plate number to the outer pages of the first signature.
First performed on January 10, 1829, La Fiancée was Auber's first opera after his breakthrough with La Muette di Portici. The present work is distinct from Auber's much later opera La Fiancée du Roi de Garbe (AWV 49, 1864), the libretto to which is also by Eugène Scribe (1791-1861). Item #25282
