Fradel, whose first name is also sometimes given as Karl or Charles, was a composer from Vienna who emigrated to the U.S. in 1859 and died in New York.

The three compositions are preceded by the poems they illustrate: "Die Liebe sass als Nachtigall" (Emanuel Geibel); "Vor Liebe" (Julius Mosen); "Der träumende See" (Mosen). Item #25692
