Binding slightly worn, rubbed and bumped; edges faded. Bookseller's handstamps to free front endpaper.

Title and composer's signature to first page of music in blue pencil. The present proof copy evidences differences , particularly as regards dynamics, phrasing etc., from the published score of 1901.

Pre publication proof copy of the first edition.
