Lithograph of a female vocal trio in black and yellow with stencilled colouring. By Charles Constantin (fl. late 19th-early 20th century)

A humourous depiction of a female vocal trio singing. The singers are of markedly different heights, with the shortest holding a sheet of paper with the words "Joly mois de May," a possible reference to the Renaissance chanson by Clément Janequin. All three characters are dressed in black, melding together to lend an impression of one body with three distinctly different visages. 382 x 176 + wide margins, sheet size 382 x 281 mm. Printed on heavy wove paper.

Slightly browned; small paper loss to left edge. Item #29826
