A French dancer, Augusta "studied with F. Taglioni and Albert, making her debut in London's Drury Lane in 1833. She danced for a season at the Paris Opera in 1835, then travelled to the US where she enjoyed great personal success, dancing La Bayadère in 1836 and La Sylphide in 1938.
