Slightly worn and stained; minor abrasion to head just slightly affecting titling; remnants of paper tape to left edge of verso, with minor annotations to lower right corner.

A French dancer, Augusta "studied with F. Taglioni and Albert, making her debut in London's Drury Lane in 1833. She danced for a season at the Paris Opera in 1835, then travelled to the US where she enjoyed great personal success, dancing La Bayadère in 1836 and La Sylphide in 1938. She was New York's first Giselle (1846)." Oxford Dictionary of Dance.
