Binding quite worn, rubbed, and bumped, with considerable loss of paper to boards; hinges cracked. Somewhat browned and dampstained, especially at upper portion of leaves; many signatures detached; tears to inner margins of several leaves not significantly affecting text; some loss to several blank inner margins; other minor defects.

Reed was active as both a composer and tune book compiler in the Ithaca and Utica, New York areas in the early decades of the 19th century.
