Bloch's Metropolitan Opera debut was as Majordomo in Rosenkavalier in 1914; he went on to perform in the premieres of Giordano's Madame Sans-Gêne (January 25, 1915), Granados's Goyescas (January 28, 1916), and de Koven's The Canterbury Pilgrims (1917).
