Wrappers somewhat worn, soiled, stained, and partially detached; minor paper loss to spine; previous owner's handstamp ("Franz Manhalter") to upper and title. Slighty worn; occasional dampstaining.

First Edition.

Leányvásár, to a libretto by Ferenc Martos and Miksa Bródy, was first performed in Budapest at the Király Theater on November 14, 1911. The German version (Mädchenmarkt) was staged in Vienna at the Carl Theater on May 7, 1913.

Jacobi studied composition with the noted teacher Hans Koessler alongside Kálmán and Szirmai. Several of his operettas achieved international success, particularly after moving to New York, where his works were staged on Broadway until his untimely death at age 37.
