Signature to title dated Rome 1903. With manuscript entries recording the cast list for the first performance in Rome on 26 March 1903.
Wrappers slightly worn and foxed. Browned; minor internal foxing.
Germania, a dramma lirico in a prologue, two acts, an ‘intermezzo sinfonico,’ and an epilogue by Baron Alberto Franchetti, set to a libretto by Luigi Illica, was first performed in Milan at the Teatro alla Scala on 11 March 1902 under Toscanini, with Enrico Caruso as Federico. It was Franchetti's most successful work.
