The play was to be preceded by a performance of Rossini's overture to Guillaume Tell.
Notable performers included Lucia Elizabeth Vestris, Miss Betts, Mrs. Barrymore, Mr. Cooper, and Mr. Jones.
Slightly browned; minor chipping to upper corners.
The first performance of La muette de Portici took place in Paris at the Opéra on 29 February 1828. The work was first performed in London at Drury Lane under the title Masaniello on 4 May 1829. Loewenberg col. 712.
