For two violins, basso continuo and treble voice. Notated in black ink in a single hand on 10-stave rastrum-ruled paper. With title "Autorè ignoto - Dormi à Bambolo mio - Canzoncina" in another hand. Composer's name and date to upper right corner of first page of music: "Giuseppe Heiberger 1782." The additional leaf notes the melody and bass-line with alternate lyrics and explanatory note: "Non é possible sopra d'una stessa avia proferina diverse parole senza stroppiarle, a parciō si sono accen[?] le alme due strofes ancō il cantanta si sappio regolere."
Slightly browned and foxed, especially to outermost pages; minor bleedthrough.
Heiberger was a German composer residing in Rome in 1777 where he wrote the opera "Il Colonello," highly regarded at the time. Moore: Complete Encyclopedia of Music, p. 397. His autograph manuscripts are held in Bologna at the Archivio Biblioteca Accademia Filarmonica (capsa IV, n.145, 146) and in Rome at the Biblioteca del Conservatorio di Musica Santa Cecilia (G.Mss 119).
