There is virtually no information about Florentine composer Fanfani. His position as music director at the Duomo is mentioned in a few of his surviving manuscripts, and is also attested to by his memorial plaque at the Convento di Santa Croce in Florence. Two manuscripts are held in the Ricasoli collection at the University of Louisville, and four at the Conservatorio in Florence (I-Fc).
