The first edition of the present work was published by Longman and Broderip in 1769, the sixth published in 1777. Muzio Clementi took over the firm in 1798.
Bond is primarily known for his publication of Six Concertos (1766), with the Six Anthems being his only other known work. It "belongs to the parish church repertory, but has much of the complexity and polish of contemporary cathedral music." Owain Edwards in Grove Music Online.
