Oblong octavo. Dark red leather-backed dark orange textured boards with titling gilt to upper, gilt rules to spine, green edges. 1f. (recto title, verso blank), 81, [i] (cast list and contents) pp. Engraved. Text in German.

With fine bust-length lithographic frontispiece portrait of the composer.

Binding quite worn, rubbed, and bumped, with some paper loss to outer portion of both upper and lower boards; endpapers worn and foxed. Some internal wear, soiling, browning, and staining, especially to final leaves.

A lyric opera in three acts to a libretto by I. F. Castelli after C. G. d’Aucour de Saint Just, Die Schweizerfamilie was first performed in Vienna at the Kärntnertortheater on 14 March 1809.
