Large (48 x 38 cms.) mid-green cloth-backed olive green board portfolio with expressionist image of dancer to upper. 1f. (recto title, verso blank), 1f. (recto text, verso blank) + 12 photo-lithographic plates of Kolbe's striking original watercolor drawings printed in shades of black and gray. In dark yellow inner portfolio with matching cloth edges. 48 x 38 cms.
Both outer and inner portfolios worn; portion of inner portfolio detached. Very slightly browned. In very good internal condition overall.
Rare.
Kolbe was a German Expressionist artist whose depictions of dancers were highly regarded. His sculpture "Tänzerin'" is his best-known work.
