Lamparelli, a Roman composer, pursued his career in France, where he found success as a composer of romances; the pieces in the present manuscript, unlocated, may be drawn from Lamparelli's 11 books of romances, published by Naderman in Paris in ca. 1800. The same poems were set by Luigi Cherubini (1760-1842) in the late 1780s; Lamparelli's romances were likely inspired by these settings.
