Oblong quarto (ca. 217 x 272 mm). Bound with light pink, light blue, and yellow silk ribbons. Notated in black ink on 10-stave rastrum-ruled paper.

Songs for solo soprano and piano:
1) Carlini. No. 1a La Rosa allor che nasce = Arietta per Camera Con accompagnamento di Piano-forte Musica del Sigr. mro Carlini. [i] (title), 5, 1f. (blank) pp. Small crease to upper outer corner of title. A graceful dance-like song in a lilting 3/8. Unlocated.

2) Carlini. No: 3 Egle, saper io bramo Arietta per Camera Con accompagnamento di Pno: Fte: Musica Del Sigr. Mro. Luigi Carlini. [i] (title), 8, [i] (blank) pp. An impassioned love song with a moto perpetuo triplet piano accompaniment and a lyrical vocal line that grows in intensity by the end of the piece, with increasing melismas. The vocal entrance, on the name "Egle" is a simple falling fourth, with a fermata on the lower note; marked "a piacere," this was likely intended as an opportunity for the vocalist to improvise a cadenza, or perform one that was previously composed. "Egle" refers to Aglaurus, an Athenian princess from Greek mythology. Unlocated.

3) Carlini. No. 2. A svelar la fiamma ascosa = Arietta per Camera Con accompagnamento di Pno: = Fte: Musica Del Sig Mro Carlini. [i] (title), 7, 1f. (blank) pp. The song, in 6/8 time, is marked "And:[anti]no Grazioso; the vocal part is notable for its delicate filigree-like ornamentation. Unlocated.

4) Lanza. Il Sorriso Canzoncina Con accompagnamento di Forte=Piano Composta Dal Pncpe Sigr. D. Giovanni Lanza e xxmiglia. [i] (title), 6, [i] (blank) pp. Staining to final blank page. Donizetti composed a song to the same text (A 165). Unlocated.

5) Lanza. Il Riso = Polacchina Con accompagnamento di Forte-Piano Musica del Principe Sigr. D Giovanni Lanza E ventimiglia Socio dell'Accademia Filo=Armonica di Palermo. [i] (title), 8, [i] (blank) pp. A love song in the form of a polonaise; the song is preceded by a "Preludio", introductory grand chords followed by an instrumental iteration of the melody. Unlocated. RISM manuscripts database records one manuscript (Andrea Monteleone, 19th century) associated with the Accademia Filo-Armonica di Palermo (RISM 140905).

A dance in five parts (each numbered and in 6/8 time); 'quintiglia' may refer to a type of contredanse. This group of pieces is a transcription from a larger chamber work. Original works of the arranger, Lorenzo Cantone, form a part of a manuscript held at Boston University, Mugar Memorial Library, Department of Special Collections (RISM 139256). This "lugubrious" (but, in fact, fairly energetic) march is composed in ABA form, with the outer sections in D minor, and the inner section in F major. Unlocated.
